Willie Colón, legendary Latin music icon, born in New York of Puerto Rican heritage, has sold more than 30 million records world-wide, including fifteen gold and five platinum records will perform in Australia alongside Colombian singer Fonseca, for the first time ever this October.

Brought by Gift Abroad Qld, Willie Colón and Fonseca will perform in Sydney, Brisbane and Melbourne.

As musician, composer, arranger, singer, and trombonist, as well as producer and director, Colón still holds the all time record for sales. His collaboration with Ruben Blades, "Siembra", is marked the biggest selling album of all time for this genre and his collaboration with Héctor LaVoe was the milestone that spread this fusion of tropical/urban music throughout Latin America.

Colón's powerful influence in Latin music worldwide is evident not only in his collaborations with such musical greats such as the Fania All Stars,  Héctor LaVoe, Rubén Blades, David Byrne, and Celia Cruz, but in his songs, known to all Latin musicians and included in almost ever Salsa artist's repertoire.

Colón is as well known and highly regarded for his humanitarianism as he is celebrated as a top class musician. Colón and Fonseca will headline Grand Finale of Clave Contra Clave, Australia's first Live Latin Band Competition, in Brisbane on Saturday 27th of October. Clave Contra Clave is a national event of Gift Abroad in celebration of Latin culture and Latin music in Australia.
