Cage Fighting Championship 11, Australia’s number 1 MMA Event November 20th at the Big Top Stadium Luna Park.Hector Lombard returns to defend his CFC Middleweight title against Canada’s Kalib Starnes.
Hector headlined the first Cage Fighting Championship show on 28 July 2007, where he fought top Australian fighter Kyle Noke. The result was a controversial draw. On the 23rd of November 2007, Lombard defeated Jean-Francois Lenogue to be the CFC Middleweight Champion. He has since defended his title 4 times. He fought and defeated Virgil Lozano and Damien Stelly to make it to the finals and defeated Jared Hess via doctor stoppage in the fourth round to win the Bellator middleweight title.
Kalib Starnes fought early in the Ultimate Fighter series 3, defeating Mike Stine by referee stoppage in the first round. However, in the semifinals he lost to Kendall Grove in the third round via verbal submission due to a rib injury. After defeating top middleweight Jason MacDonald by knockout and The Ultimate Fighter series 1 semifinalist Chris Leben by decision, Starnes lost via TKO due to injury to Alan Belcher at UFC 77 In his final UFC bout, he dropped a unanimous decision to Nate Quarry at UFC 83.
